Brown & James Counsel Elaine Moss Elected to ALFA International Board

Brown & James is pleased to announce the election of Counsel Elaine Moss as a board member of ALFA International, the global legal network. With 145 member firms around the globe (80 in the United States), ALFA International is the premier global network of independent law firms whose success is driven by broad, deep, local relationships all over the world.
In addition to serving on the board, Ms. Moss is a member of ALFA International’s Insurance Law Practice Group and the Construction Law Practice Group and currently serves as marketing chair for both. She also serves on the ALFA International Marketing Committee.
Ms. Moss focuses her practice on insurance coverage and complex insurance litigation, including large-scale construction disputes. She writes and speaks frequently on insurance-related topics. She also enjoys working with small startup companies in developing policy, procedures and contract templates. She created a comprehensive litigation training program for Brown & James and is one of the founders of the firm's Fifth Friday Women's Initiative. She is actively involved in efforts to increase diversity in the legal profession with a particular focus on increasing the presence and profile of women attorneys.
Ms. Moss received both her undergraduate and law school degrees from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock. She began her legal career in Los Angeles working for a predecessor to Reed Smith. She and her family have made their home in St. Louis for the last 25 years.
