St. Louis principals Jacqueline Kinder and John McLeod were selected as 2017 "Up & Coming" Lawyers by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. Ms. Kinder has been with Brown & James since 2004 and was the youngest female attorney to be named a firm principal. She tried more than 10 jury trials before the age of 35. She served as a speaker for the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators and also speaks regularly at the Brown & James’ annual seminar. In 2011, she was awarded a Top Defense Verdict in the State of Missouri by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. In 2009, she was first listed as a Rising Star by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers. She earned this honor every year from 2011 to 2014. She has since been named a Civil Litigation Defense Super Lawyer each year beginning in 2015.
In the legal community, Ms. Kinder is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. Additionally, she is an active supporter of St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Stray Rescue. She is also active with her church parish, St. Clement of Rome, where she serves as co-chair of their carnival fundraiser.
Mr. McLeod is on his second year as chair of the firm’s Associate Training Committee and previously served as moderator for the new associate Advanced Sheet Training. He was nominated for partnership in 2015 at the age of 33. He recently helped launch the firm’s webinar series and is a frequent presenter and author. He routinely conducts presentations for the insurance, risk management, and transportation industries on Missouri and Illinois law. In addition to his professional leadership, he volunteers for Stray Rescue and is a foster dad for puppies.
The duo will be honored at an awards luncheon on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis.
