Brown & James Principal Philip L. Willman Elected Second Vice President of DRI

Brown & James, P.C. is pleased to announce that Philip L. Willman
, shareholder and principal in the firm’s Health Care Liability practice group, has been elected to the position of Second Vice President with DRI, the largest international membership organization of attorneys and in-house counsel defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. He will become President of DRI in 2019.
Mr. Willman has been a member of DRI since 1985. In that time, he has held several leadership roles within the organization, including Mid Region Director on the DRI Board of Directors since 2014, Chair of the Medical Liability and Healthcare Law Committee from 2009 until 2011, State Representative for Missouri from 2006 through 2009, Program Chair of the Medical Liability and Healthcare Law Seminar in 2008, and Program Co-Chair of the Complex Medicine Seminar in 2005.
Mr. Willman is a recognized leader in the health care liability practice area. He has been listed by Best Lawyers
in The Best Lawyers in America
for Medical Malpractice Law-Defendants practice area annually since 2008. Mr. Willman has also been honored by Super Lawyers
for Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice annually since 2010. In 2008, Missouri Lawyers Weekly
cited him for having one of the top 10 defense verdicts in Missouri. He has held leadership roles with the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the St. Louis Association of Health Care Risk Managers.
