Brown & James Principal Irene Marusic Honored at Missouri Lawyers Weekly Women’s Justice Awards

Brown & James, P.C. Principal Irene J. Marusic was honored with the Litigation Practitioner Award at Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s 2016 Women’s Justice Awards.
The Women’s Justice Awards recognize women in Missouri in a variety of roles who have made a significant impact on the legal community. The Litigation Practitioner Award honors “female litigators who demonstrate leadership, professionalism and a passion for improving the quality of the justice system or contributing to the betterment of the profession.”
Ms. Marusic’s recognition by Missouri Lawyers Weekly is a testament to her success as a trial lawyer and the devotion that she gives to every one of her cases. Meticulous preparation and concern for her clients are hallmarks of her practice. Ms. Marusic practices in the firm's St. Louis office and concentrates in the area of premises liability, product liability, insurance law and arson-fraud litigation. She has represented premises liability clients ranging from local stores to national chains. Ms. Marusic frequently lectures on the defense of personal injury claims and insurance coverage issues.
Ms. Marusic is also active in pro bono matters. She donates much of her free time to St. Joseph’s Church, a Croatian church in St. Louis that seeks to maintain and preserve the cultural heritage of the large Croatian community residing in the St. Louis area. She speaks Croatian and Bosnian fluently.
