Brown & James Founding Partner John L. McMullin Has Passed Away
Brown & James, P.C. regrets to announce that John L. McMullin, one of the firm’s founding partners, passed away on March 24, 2016. He was 69.
Mr. McMullin was a beloved father, fiancé, grandfather, and step-father. He was an outstanding trial lawyer of unmatched abilities in the courtroom and a mentor to many.
Mr. McMullin was one of the six partners who founded the firm in December 1980, then known as Brown, James, Rabbitt, Whaley, McMullin & Pitzer. During his active practice, he was the firm’s senior trial lawyer for Illinois. He tried over 150 major civil jury trials to conclusion. From 1977 to 1980, Mr. McMullin was a professor of product and professional liability at Washington University in St. Louis. He was a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. McMullin was dedicated to his clients and committed to the success of the firm and its employees. He will be missed.
