Jon Morrow handles primary first-party insurance matters with a special focus on claims involving issues of arson and fraud. He works with carriers
on pending claims and takes examinations under oath on a regular basis. Mr. Morrow routinely handles claims through all stages of litigation and has tried first-party insurance cases in Missouri and Illinois.

Favorable Jury Verdicts
Allstate Vehicle and
Property Insurance Company v. Elmer Adams, Jr.,
Western District of Missouri Federal Court (2017). Obtained summary judgment on a defamation claim in the Western
District of Missouri Federal Court. The
insured’s counsel argued that the company’s communication with NICB and
the Missouri Department of Insurance regarding a pending arson claim
constituted defamation. The court
rejected this argument and held that the company’s statements qualified for
immunity under Missouri law.
Allstate Indemnity Company v. Joseph and Casey Dixon, Western District of Missouri Federal Court (2017).
Obtained a defense verdict in an arson trial for Allstate Indemnity Company. The case involved a fire at a large hotel and
the exposure was well over $900,000. The
jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the insurance company.
Allstate Vehicle and Property Insurance Company v. James Graham, Jr.,
Eastern District of Missouri Federal Court (2017). Obtained a full defense verdict in an arson trial. The
insured’s counsel asked the jury for more than $500,000. The jury returned a unanimous verdict in
favor of the insurance company.
Williams v. Farm Bureau,
Jackson County Circuit Court (2016). Obtained directed verdict in
Jackson County, Missouri. Plaintiffs claimed more than $300,000 of personal property. Farm Bureau obtained a directed verdict, as
plaintiffs did not make a submissible case on damages. The court’s directed verdict was upheld on
Hannon v. Auto Owners,
Eastern District of Missouri (2014). Obtained a full defense verdict
in a trial regarding a large commercial roof with the exposure, and the exposure
was well over $500,000. The jury
returned a unanimous verdict in favor of the insurance company.
Gunter v. Cameron Insurance Company
, Stoddard County Circuit Court (2013). First-party arson case. Jury verdict for Cameron.
Stolte v. Allstate Insurance Company
, Moultrie County Circuit Court (2012).
First-party arson case. Unanimous jury verdict for Allstate.
Dyson-Cooper v. Allstate Insurance Company
, City of St. Louis Circuit Court (2011). First-party fraud case. Jury verdict for Allstate.
Arnold v. Shelter
, Bollinger County Circuit Court (2010). First-party property damage case. Jury awarded nominal damages after plaintiff asked for more than $150,000.
