Brad Hansmann Awarded the Missouri Bar's 2010 Lon O. Hocker Award

The Missouri Bar Foundation has awarded Brown & James Principal Bradley R. Hansmann the prestigious Lon O. Hocker Award at the Missouri Bar/Missouri Judicial Conference 2010 Annual Meeting, held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Columbia, Mo. The award is presented annually to three lawyers 36 years of age or younger – one each from the St. Louis, Kansas City and outstate Missouri areas – who have demonstrated unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy.

“Brad has proven himself time and time again as one of the top young trial lawyers in Missouri,” said Mike Ward, Brown & James’ managing principal. “The Lon Hocker Award is truly a great honor and we are very proud of him.”

Mr. Hansmann has successfully tried numerous jury trials throughout Missouri and Illinois in state and federal courts. He practices in the firm’s St. Louis office and is a member of the Brown & James Arson-Fraud Litigation, Environmental/Toxic Torts, Insurance Law, Premises & Retail Liability and Product Liability practice groups. He received his J.D. with honors from St. Louis University School of Law and a B.A. from St. Louis University.

About the Lon O. Hocker Award
Presented annually by the Missouri Bar Foundation, the Lon Hocker award was established in 1954 by Mary Hocker in honor of her late husband Lon Hocker, a prominent St. Louis trial attorney, who recognized the role of trial lawyers in seeing that all who come before the courts of justice are “given a fair trial regardless of race, color, condition of purse, or religion.”
