Tara Gibbons Honored as 2010 Diverse Business Leaders Award Recipient

Brown & James Principal Tara L. Gibbons has been named a recipient of the 2010 Diverse Business Leaders Award by the St. Louis Business Journal. The awards promote diversity in race, sexual orientation and disability, and are given annually to exemplary business leaders in the metropolitan area.

Ms. Gibbons practices in Brown & James’ Belleville, Ill., office. She is a member of the firm’s diversity committee and active in community affairs. She annually participates in St. Clair County’s (IL) Amnesty Day offering pro bono legal advice, serves as an adjunct professor for the paralegal program at a local community college, and volunteers for the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, providing pro bono legal services for low-income residents and senior citizens.

Ms. Gibbons is a member of the firm’s Health Care Liability, Premises & Retail Liability, Insurance Law and Professional Liability practice groups. A Mississippi native, she has spent the majority of her career representing clients in the southern Illinois area, focusing her practice on medical malpractice and toxic tort issues.
